| Music has been a central
part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have always loved to
sing, and have been part of choruses in junior high, in college and in my
community. I have accompanied myself on guitar since the age of twelve.
I also play the hammered dulcimer, and its relative, the plucked
psaltery.
Being a music therapist allows me to combine this life-long love
of and
involvement in music with my desire to work with people to make a
positive difference in their lives.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Music Therapy at
the State University of New York at New Paltz, and my Music
Therapy Internship with the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System. I
earned the credential of MT-BC [Music Therapist, Board Certified] by
passing the examination given by the national
Certification Board of Music Therapists.
